Hamburg Cruise Center Altona

The Hamburg Cruise Center II, the second Hamburger Bahnhof for the “Giants of the Seas”, was built between the former England Ferry Terminal and Dockland. The elongated linearity of the building fits in with the development on the banks of the Elbe, while the restrained expansion of the structure redirects the flowing movement of the buildings along the river and the traffic in the direction of a string of pearls. The basic form of the terminal plays with the conciseness of the neighbouring Dockland office building. From a bird’s eye view, an exciting alternation of the buildings and room lines is created.
